Let’s go nuclear

Well, semua berdasarkan tafsiran masing-masing. Anda punya pendapat, anda punya hak.

Bukan bicara politik, tetapi bicara teknikal.

Saya bukan seorang pelajar sains nuklear, tetapi saya ada belajar tentang nuklear untuk keperluan semasa. Sama2lah membaca dan semoga ia bermanfaat kepada semua.

Lega lepas tapis

Alhamdulillah.. Lega. Lega. Lega. 2 down, 1 more to go. :p Induksi Khusus, check! Tapisan Keselamatan, check! Induksi Umum, here I come. Lepas ni confem. Confem. :p

Anyway, thank you a lot my good friend, Fairuz for ’sacrificing’ your leave for a half day accompany me to the interview. Hahaha. Good job babeh. Tak sempat nak social engineer awek sebelah masa menunggu. Lolz.

“Hey Dzul, just be careful dealing with radiation stuff while you are working there.” kata Chif Inspector tersebut. “Will do, sir. Thanks.” :)

Orait. Sapa-sapa yang nak pegi lepas ni Good Luck eh. Okays. :)

P/S: Thanks you to Ili Diyana jugak la sebagai backup kalau Fairuz takde. Haha sebut gak la nama kau.

Congratulations my friend for your new job

If you remember there is a comment for my article on another gov interview very-very long time ago about asking me to contact him because he got interview for the same position as me.

I did called and emailed that guy who is known as Zack, 5 minutes after his comment reach my inbox, and we ended up having a quick chitchat+dinner at mamak stall at Mutiara Damansara area.

Last a month and something2, I got a called from him saying that he got the job and position. Congratulations, bro. And surprisingly, the agency he got is the same as mine. Well, seems like the agency is now hiring more people to enhanced this future technology. (BTW, just for your note, I and a few of my current colleagues was interviewed by other agency, but ended up here.)

Just wanna say congratulations to him and to all the people out there who interviewed for the position as Research Officer or Pegawai Penyelidik.

P/S: And to your surprised, Zack is currently my unofficial housemate because he seldom sleepover at the medium room in my apartment yet he is still deciding whether to rent here or to just stay at his 40-minutes-away home.

Govt should cut longer meeting hours and be productive

It’s been… hm let’s see.. it’s about 2 months and some few days since I officially became a govt servant. A few things about govt and private, which I won’t be bias this time as I now can give the SWOT analysis between govt and private.

One thing that govt maybe lack of is that govt tends to make a longer meeting duration than it is supposed to be. I can’t imagine if that meeting held at private company, the staffs will make a face and they will keep an eye on their hand watch after 1 hour.

Meeting
Meeting. Image from: http://www.ln.edu.hk

So far I can see a few reasons why an-hour-meeting will turn out to be a-full-day-meeting. It is because:
1. the meeting is about budget and so far ‘the budget’ will keep changing no matter how many meetings held until the very last minute to submit - hard to decide when it comes to budgeting.
2. there are too many head of departments/sections/anything in the meeting which they hold authority because of their seniority and all of their ideas should be considered of - will end up changing everything from a start if one of them does not agree with one another.

I am and will become one of them someday. And I hope somehow I will foresee this unproductive work and will try my best to at least decrease the longer hour.

Other than that, I now open my eyes and see some nice things in the govt and I am slowly projecting back my future in this area and beginning my step forward. (Yeah, I was from security company, so vulnerability analysis and exploit is part of daily life. But, the only thing different is this time is real life. Lolz.) Aha, btw, not to forget, a lot of new staffs coming here and most of them from private and we are planning to do some difference here, maybe not much as time being but at least there are something.

That’s all. Ah, but to you guys in private, don’t swear the govt too much. :) They held big responsibility and also bothered on thinking how to enhance the country. Private maybe only bother about the their company, but for govt, yes I am involved (suddenly.. lolz), do think and decide with the consideration of the future of the country. May Allah bless us and the country and the citizens.

Thank you. And pardon my english. It’s been a while since I spoke in english during working hour. :p

The reason…

On a very good Monday morning, I was at home at my hometown.. I took two days leave before because tomorrow I got a gov interview. Suddenly, everything (read: my life will) changed when Mr Postman came and delivered something with my name on it.

It is a start of new thing..

Surat

Then, the next day I didn’t went for the interview and did the medical checkup as required in the letter. The thing is, this is a super unexpected thing to me.. But all the way, I feel really grateful to Allah as I slowly adapt to new things and shift the projection of my 5-years view of what I can be. Lolx.

Then, I proceed with this letter to them…by hand. :)

Tangguh 1

I must give a notice period of 2 months to my superb company. The reason is because, I am 2-years more to become my boss replacement aka successor and I am involved in a future long-term core technology, plus it is hard to find replacement in 2 months, plus it is stated for 2 months notice in the contract employee agreement.

Then they respond they can only give me less than 1 month and if longer than that, it is impossible. Luckily they respond as below making it 1 and a half months:

Respond

Dealing with them again on the phone, and they agree to make it longer a week before the day of reporting. Oh so, nice.. And my manager and also my boss really care about their underlings, and one letter of recommendation follow up to support my application. Thanks to you guys, really2 touching me. Miahaha:

Me to Gov

Company reply

After that, they did reply on phone that they had approved my application and the will be letter follow up. Here it is!.. Ops.. I didn’t take the letter yet. It is in the postlaju office because they came when I’m not around. :)

I must say it is a good news and hoping to project a superb brighter future in this new path. Apa yang penting? Kaf Ba Ra Kaf Alif Ta Nun. Pray for me! :)

Interesting about languages - same pronunciation, different meaning

One thing that I like about my daily work is that I got a chance to work closely with people from different races and countries around the globe. And the funny thing is these (hackers mackers) people are also as crazy as we are and I get to learn new words everyday and mostly ‘bad words’ from them. Is not that they saying it meaningly or directly to any person in the office, but in a manner that they teach you how to use that bad word. Hehe. I can now speak and understand a little Chinese, Hindi, and Tagalog (well, maybe Finnish will be included in the future :p ).

Here is some interesting words that I learned from them. This journal (blog) will be some kind of diary for me to remember those in the future.

In Tagalog, ‘susu‘ means ‘breast‘ (in Malay it is milk) and if they say to a waiter @ some cafeteria here, “tambah susu” it will means sort or add more breast. They will laugh themselves as they say that at first coming here. :p Luckily we can just bypass the word susu for ordering something with susu included.

In Tagalog, there is a word Kantot (close to kentut) that means sex. So if you accidentally say that “Ikaw kantot kita..” (which you do mean in Malay, “Engkau kentut aku..“) but it actually means “I’ll fuck you.” to them. What a words.. :P

Actually there’s a lot of confusion by the foreigners when they first come to Malaysia hearing our words. Like “terima kasih” cannot be said in India, you will get beaten by them, because that sound like ‘Your mother fucker’ to them. Haha.. So nice these multilanguages in here. We just launghing and sometime interchange those malay, tagalog, english, hindi, chinese words in daily work life. Its just so amazing.

So, that’s all. Happy Working, guys! :)

Keburukan dan kebaikan Jam di KL

“Hari-hari jem. Nak g keje jem, nak balik keje jam, time tengah hari pun jem. Hai, apa nak jadila KL ni..” Hehe..

Keburukan:

1. Jam di KL dan Selangor ialah jam yang lebih teruk daripada jam di tempat-tempat lain sama ada Ipoh, Perlis , mahupun JB (certified by me).

I’m gonna missed my computer

I got the feeling something would happen..

I’m gonna missed my Start Menu program and other programs that inside my pc and those that I develop..

Hopefully not this time.. Not yet.. Hm.. See how many programs installed? Lolz. Quiet a lot rite? Count the line of my programs there. Its more than 50! :) How many programs do your computer have?

The nice factor is, although there are many programs, my PC boot up 3 times faster than my lappy. And this PC use less than 1 Gb compared to 4 Gb lappy. Lolz.

Gonna missed my PC a lot. And also my VM images of mutiples OSes.. XP, Vista, 3 Linux with 3 different distribution… for those testing work..

Doa-doakanlah yang terbaik buat daku wahai rakanku semua.. Thanks. :)

Lapor Diri Tamat Pengajian JPA, again?

I remember last June 2008 I have submitted this BORANG PENDAFTARAN TAMAT PENGAJIAN PEMEGANG-PEMEGANG BIASISWA PERSEKUTUAN / PINJAMAN PELAJARAN JABATAN PERKHIDMATAN AWAM MALAYSIA to them.

Again, this year (January 2009) I received the same letter with header ‘MELAPOR DIRI SETELAH TAMAT PENGAJIAN BAGI PEMEGANG_PEMEGANG BIASISWA PERSEKUTUAN JABATAN PERKHIDMATAN AWAM (JPA)‘. Darn..

So, I make a call to them (JPA) and ask for this issue.. They answered well that the letter might ‘lost in action’ as they usually encountered cases that some of their letters they really didn’t received. And, they said just resubmit the form and no action will be taken as I asked them, worried that JPA will take some action on me. :)

I tried to download the form again at the website, but it look like the website is not there. Or maybe just I have bad internet connection. I did Google search for specific keyword = “JPA(L)/PTP-Pin. 1/07)” and landing at some PDF link. But when I tried to download seems like it’s not there. Huh?

Luckily I checked my computer and found last year’s form. It is the same form that have to resubmitted. Thinking that somebody might have trouble downloading the form too, I mirror the downloadable form at my site. Just click PDF icon or link below.

Download :BORANG PENDAFTARAN TAMAT PENGAJIAN PEMEGANG-PEMEGANG BIASISWA PERSEKUTUAN / PINJAMAN PELAJARAN JABATAN PERKHIDMATAN AWAM MALAYSIA

And don’t forget to include these things also when submitting to JPA:

i) Borang Pendaftaran Taman Pengajian [ JPA(L)PTP-Pin.1/07) ]

ii) Salinan Ijazah/Surat Pengesahan Senat (salinan perlu disahkan)

iii) Salinan transkrip peperiksaan (salinan perlu disahkan)

iV) Bukti permohonan pekerjaan dengan Pihak Berkuasa Melantik Persekutuan. (eg SPA : www.spa.gov.my) Minimum jawatan ialah lima (5).

Thanks, and all the best. :)

P/S: BTW, I just saw gov has increase their salary. Ah, update for last interview.. I got calon simpanan for the Pegawai Penyelidik Q41 (Kejuruteraan Komputer). Hm.. the salary sound interesting. Hehe.. Ok. Bye2.
